Structure of our Troop
Troop 494 is a boy-run Troop. The new scouts will be put into a patrol with approximately 8 other new scouts. The patrol elects its Patrol Leader and Asst. Patrol Leader on a yearly basis. The Patrol Leader is completely responsible for his Patrol. He must keep them informed of events and represents his patrol in the monthly Patrol Leaders Council meeting.
Yearly the Scouts elect a Senior Patrol Leader who will “run” the whole troop. The Senior Patrol Leader appoints several assistants to help him during his term. The Senior Patrol Leader, with the assistance of the Scoutmaster, assigns all other positions of responsibility such as Bugler, Historian, Chaplain’s Aide, Den Chief, and Scribe, etc.
